Alba Aurora Bergamasco Fedor;81;of Webster;formerly of Monessen;died Wednesday;June 21;2000;in the Westmoreland Manor;Greensburg. She was born in Monessen on Dec.30;1918;a daughter of the late Primo and Emilia (Valenzano) Bergamasco. Mrs.Fedor was a 1935 honors graduate of Monessen High School;had perfect atttendence at school for seven years and was the recipient of the American Legion Award. For 19 years she worked as an admissions clerk for Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh. She was a member of the former St.Leonard’s Catholic Church in Monessen;the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 1190 in Monessen;the Rostraver Central VFD No.1 Ladies Auxiliary in Webster;Friends of the Monessen Public Library;Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Ladies Guild of St.Leonard’s Church. She was an avid volunteer and was active with the Meals on Wheels program and the Leukemia Society. She also wrote two songs for the Library in Congress. For many years;she worked for the Republican Election Board of Monessen and was also a census taker. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law;Martha and Tim Veschio of Tampa;Fla.;and Margaret (Cookie) and Barry Couser of Webster;a sister;Sempra Mastarone of Leechburg;six grandchildren;Tim Veschio;Victor Veschio;Charles Barry Couser Jr.;Marsha Matis;David Couser and Patty Couser Miller;and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by three brothers;Arthur and Rebella Bergamasco;and an infant brother. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the JAMES C.STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC.;580 Circle Dr.;Sweeney Plan/Rostraver Township. A Blessing service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 10 a.m.with the Rev.Ronald L.Simboli officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery;Rostraver Township. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Monessen Public Library;the Meals on Wheels program or to the Monessen Ambulance Service.
