Obituary

Adolph C. Jannotta, 91, of Belle Vernon, formerly of Monessen, died Thursday, September 19, 2002, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born December 28,1910,in Monessen,a son of the late John and Rose (Pascoe) Jannotta. A musician,Mr.Jannotta played with the former Monessen Firemens Band under the direction of his father,and later played with the MARS Band. He was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,where he served as an usher for many years. He retired in 1973 from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation,where he worked as a crane operator. He was also a member of the Mon Valley Association of Retired Steelworkers. He is survived by is wife,Rebecca (Manown) Jannotta,two sons and daughters-in-law,Joseph and Gay Jannotta of Charleroi,and John and Mindy Jannotta of Huntington,WV,a daughter and son-in-law,Judy and Edward Sevon of Jensen Beach.FL,a step daughter,Marie and her husband David Horan of Webster,a sister,Alberta Caruso of Monessen,seven grandchildren,Shauna Jannotta,Brittany Jannotta,Michelle Sevon,Tracy Naponic,David Ednie,Paula Daniels,and Joshua Jannotta,five great-grandchildren,one great-great-grandson,and by nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his first wife,Josephine (Costanza) Jannotta in 1948,and by two brothers,Joseph and Michael Jannotta. Friends will be received on Saturday from 7 to 9 PM,and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home,Inc.,441 Reed Avenue,Monessen. Services will be held on Monday,with a prayer at 10:30 AM in the funeral home,followed by an 11:15 AM Funeral Mass in St.Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon,with Fr.John R.Cindric,V.F.officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
