Obituary

Adam Baker,575 Donner avenue,was stricken while at work at the Page Division of the American Chain and Cable Company Sunday afternoon,May 13,1945,and died a short time later in the mill hospital.  According to reports,he was engaged in his duties as oiler at the mill when he was taken ill.  He reported to the hospital and a doctor was summoned.  He died of a heart attack at 5:30 p.m.,a few minutes after the doctor arrived.  Surviving are his wife,Mrs.Anna Baker,four sons,James,S/Sgt.Charles,stationed at Wendover Field,Utah,Cpl.Eugene in France,Robert at home,two daughters,Geraldine and Catherine,at home,six brothers,Harry,Earl,Ralph,and Roy,all of Monessen,Oscar,of Long Branch Boro,and Louis,of North Charleroi,and a sister,Mrs.Charles Crowe,of Monessen.  Two grandchildren also survive.  Friends will be received at the Check Funeral Home until Thursday,May 17,when funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m.,followed by additional rites at 9 a.m.at St.Leonard's Church with Rev.Owen J.Kirby officiating.  Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Joseph R.Check,funeral director in charge.
