Adam Baker;575 Donner avenue;was stricken while at work at the Page Division of the American Chain and Cable Company Sunday afternoon;May 13;1945;and died a short time later in the mill hospital. According to reports;he was engaged in his duties as oiler at the mill when he was taken ill. He reported to the hospital and a doctor was summoned. He died of a heart attack at 5:30 p.m.;a few minutes after the doctor arrived. Surviving are his wife;Mrs.Anna baker;four sons;James;S/Sgt.Charles;stationed at Wendover Field;Utah;Cpl.Eugene in France;Robert at home;two daughters;Geraldine and Catherine;at home;six brothers;Harry;Earl;Ralph;and Roy;all of Monessen;Oscar;of Long Branch Boro;and Louis;of North Charleroi;and a sister;Mrs.Charles Crowe;of Monessen. two grandchildren also survive. Friends will be received at the Check Funeral home until Thursday;May 17;when funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m.;followed by additional rites at 9 a.m.at St.Leonard’s Church with Rev.Owen J.Kirby officiating.
