Adam Cyrnek; 91; of Monessen; passed away Saturday; Aug. 21; 2010; in Monongahela Valley Hospital. He was born May 16; 1919; in Vestaburg; son of the late Stanley and Wanda Cyrnek. He worked as a steelworker for American Chain and Cable Co.; Page Division and also Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; prior to his retirement. Mr. Cyrnek was a veteran of World War II and Korea; having served in the Army. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and also enjoyed flowers. Surviving are his daughter; Shirley; and husband; Joe Zilka; of Monongahela; a son; Stanley Sonny and wife; Veronica Cyrnek; of Rostraver Township; five grandchildren; Joe Zilka Jr. and wife; Donna; of Belle Vernon; Jennifer Lynne Marco and husband; Jeff; of South Charleston; Ohio; Todd Zilka and wife; Jennifer; of Daisytown; Heather Zilka; of Columbus; Ohio; and Jeff Cyrnek and wife; Jennifer; of Fallowfield Township; five great-grandchildren; and a sister; Stella Corner; of Richeyville. He was preceded in death by his wife; Sue. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC.; family owned and operated as a member of the Golden Rule; 1209 Grand Blvd.; Monessen; where friends will be received on Tuesday; Aug. 24; from 2 to 4 p.m. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
