Obituary

Adam Cyrnek, 91, of Monessen, passed away Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, in Monongahela Valley Hospital. He was born May 16, 1919, in Vestaburg, son of the late Stanley and Wanda Cyrnek. He worked as a steelworker for American Chain and Cable Co., Page Division and also Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, prior to his retirement. Mr. Cyrnek was a veteran of World War II and Korea, having served in the Army. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and also enjoyed flowers. Surviving are his daughter, Shirley, and husband, Joe Zilka, of Monongahela, a son, Stanley Sonny and wife, Veronica Cyrnek, of Rostraver Township, five grandchildren, Joe Zilka Jr. and wife, Donna, of Belle Vernon, Jennifer Lynne Marco and husband, Jeff, of South Charleston, Ohio, Todd Zilka and wife, Jennifer, of Daisytown, Heather Zilka, of Columbus, Ohio, and Jeff Cyrnek and wife, Jennifer, of Fallowfield Township, five great-grandchildren, and a sister, Stella Corner, of Richeyville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., family owned and operated as a member of the Golden Rule, 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, where friends will be received on Tuesday, Aug. 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
