John Helmken of 109 Lincoln avenue;Charleroi;died at Cresson;Pa.;April 8;1953;at 7:10 p.m.;following an illness of several years. Mr.Helmken was born in Fairhope;December 28;1906;the son of Joseph and Bridget Roach Helmken. He came to Charleroi in 1945 from Fairhope;and was a member of the Moose and Eagles lodges. He is survived by his wife;Louise Fredrick Helmken;one son;Anthony J.Helmken at home;one daughter;Mrs.Elma Weckoski of Charleroi;two brothers;Henry of Fayette City;and William of Okmulgee;Oklahoma;and one sister;Mrs.Gertrude Williams of Donora. Friends will be received at the Francis C.Slezak Funeral Home. Services will be held in the Mother of Sorrows Church;Saturday;April 11;1953;at 9 a.m.;in charge of Rev.J.J.Thomas. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon cemetery. Francis C.Slezak is the funeral director.
