Obituary

Robert B.Hewitt,aged 56 years,of 25 Carson street,Speers,died in the Presbyterian hospital,Pittsburgh,Wednesday,March 4,1953,at 6:28 p.m. The deceased was a member of the American Legion Post 659,Belle Vernon,and had been employed as an engineer for the Monessen-Southwestern Railroad of the Pittsburgh Steel Co. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. Surviving are his wife,Mrs.Mary Ann Hewitt,two sons,Robert W.,Greensburg,and Jacob Thomas,with the U.S.Navy,three daughters,Mrs.Thomas Griffith,Speers,Mrs.Dale Crouch,N.Charleroi,and Mrs.Charles McKevitt,California,his mother,Mrs.Elizabeth Hewitt,Southern Pines,N.C.,five sisters,Mrs.Lenore Mulholland,Mrs.Emma Warren,and Luella Hewitt,all of Southern Pines,N.C.,Mrs.Mary Gaydas,Ravenna,Ohio,and Mrs. Elsie Haskel,Presque Isle,Maine,four brothers,Thomas,Homestead,Earl,Florida,Ollie,Clarksville,and Charles H.,Belle Vernon,and six grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Toner Funeral Home,beginning tomorrow morning,March 6,and services will be held there Monday,March 9,1953,at 2 p.m.,in charge of Rev.Allan Howes. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon cemetery. Harold R.Toner is the funeral director.
