Obituary

Joseph Gido,74,of 25 East Luce Ave.,Monessen,was pronounced dead on arrival at Charleroi-Monessen Hospital,Saturday,March 28,at 2:15 a.m. He had been ill for the past two months. He was born in Hazelton,and was a life-long resident of Monessen. He retired eight years ago from the gate shop,Monessen plant,Pittsburgh Steel Co. He was a member of St.Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church,Monessen. An Army veteran of World War One,he was a life member of Thomas McKee Post 28,American Legion,Monessen. He is survived by his widow,Louise Pearce Gido,one daughter,Mrs.Ralph (Virginia) Stone,Belle Vernon,three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.,one sister,Mrs.Barbara Cunningham of Mercer,two brothers,Theodore Gido of Mercer and Michael Young of Richmond,Va. Friends will be received at the Rhome Funeral Home,Monessen,after 7 p.m. Sunday. Services there Tuesday,March 31,at 10 a.m.will be followed by additional services in St.Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church,Monessen,in charge of the Very Rev.Andrew Parvensky. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Rhome funeral directors,in charge.
