Obituary

James Ernest Goe. 87, of 328 Graham St., Belle Vernon, died Wednesday,Jan.11,1967, at 10 p.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital after a lingering illness. Mr. Goe, a retired employee from the now defunct Belle Vernon Glass Factory, had lived in Belle Vernon 60 years. He was a member of Speers St. A. M. E. Church in Belle Vernon, where he was a former steward. Mr. Goe was born in Brownsville on Dec. 28, 1879. Surviving are his widow, Mattie Lockley Goe, a daughter, Mrs. Ernestine Bedford of Donora, two sons, Kenneth A. of Detroit, Mich., and Lawrence P. of Pittsburgh, one sister, Mrs. Edna Thompson of Detroit, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildrern. Friends will be received at the late home after 11 a.m. Jan.13. Service on Saturday,Jan.14,at 2 p.m.from Speers St.A.M.E.Church,Belle Vernon. The Rev.James Cox,pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Pittsburgh,will officiate. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Percy Law Jr.of Donora is funeral director.
