Joseph F. Greene, 60, of Box 395, Belle Vernon R. D. 1 died in Monongahela Memorial Hospital Sunday,March 15,1964, at 8:20 a.m. Mr. Greene retired in 1963 from the tractor shop of American Steel and Wire Co., Donora. He was a member of Pilgrim Holiness Church, Donora. He was born Sept 10, 1903, in Wick Haven, a son of the late Joseph and Emma Minerd Greene, but had lived most of his life in the Belle Vernon R. D. 1 area. Surviving are his widow, Gladys Harrison Greene; one son, David H. of Pittsburgh; one daughter, Mrs. James (Joanne) Strennen of Belle Vernon R. D. 1; two brothers, Clyde of Belle Vernon R. D. 1, and James C. of Charleroi; four sisters, Mrs. Marvin (Elizabeth) Barr of Belle Vernon R. D. 1, Mrs. Howard (Viola) Harrison of Sweeney Plan, Belle Vernon R. D., Mrs. Lawrence (Emma) Morris of Monongahela, and Mrs.Samuel (Dorothy) Laria of Clarksburg, W. Va.and eight grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Lawson-Rabe Funeral Home in Donora,until 11 a.m. Wednesday,March 18,when the remains will be taken to Pilgrim Holiness Church in Donora to lie in state until service at 2 p.m. The Rev.William Schaffner,pastor,will officiate. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Lawson-Rabe Funeral Home in charge.
