Obituary

Elijah Gauden,61,of 206 Main St.,Roscoe,died in the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital,Friday,Jan.5,1962 at 2:25 a.m. He was born in Westmoreland County,Feb.14,1900,the son of James and Eliza Jane Gauden. Mr.Gauden was employed as a millwright at the Allenport plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. He is survived by his widow,Jessie David Gauden,seven sons,Elijah Jr.,Roscoe,Houston of West Brownsville,R.D.,Ira of Charleroi,James,George,Albert and Sidney at home,two daughters,Mrs.Anna Marie Gordon of West Brownsville,R.D.,Mrs.Jessie Watkins of Coal Center,his parents,Mr and Mrs.James Gauden,one brother,Albert of Deemston,two sisters,Mrs.Lynie Rhoades,Fredericktown,and Mrs.Virginia Baker of Baltimore,Md.,and fourteen grandchildren. Friends will be received at the late home. Services will be held there Monday,Jan.8,1962,at 1:30 p.m.in charge of Rev.J.Theodore Hunniford,pastor of the Roscoe Presbyterian Church. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Ruth and Emil Eckert,Roscoe,are the funeral directors.
