Obituary

Pete Flora of 624 Henry St.,Belle Vernon,died Sunday,April 11,1976,at 2:45 a.m. in West Penn Hospital,Pittsburgh after a lengthy illness. He was 73. Mt.Flora,a retired merchant,was the former owner of Flora's Tavern at Fayette City R.D.1 for 26 years. He was active in business and civic affairs of the community. Born in Belle Vernon on March 3,1903,he was a son of the late Jack and Tomasina Luperto Flora. He belonged to St.Sebastian's Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,and the Belle Vernon and Monessen Golden Age Clubs. Surviving are his widow,Anna Bashada Flora,one daughter,Mrs.Phyllis Trasatti of Belle Vernon,four brothers,Ross and Frank Flora,both of Belle Vernon,Joseph and John Flora,both of Pittsburgh,one sister,Mrs.Josephine Neil of Belle Vernon,and two grandchildren. Friends are being received Monday and Tuesday at the Howard W.Mccrory Funeral Home,Fayette City. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.,followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.Sebastian Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,with the Rev.Edward Gearing,pastor,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Roasry prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9 p.m. Howard W.McCrory is funeral director in charge.
