Frank A. Fowkes,66, of Allenport, died Thursday, Aug. 31,1972 at 2:30 p.m. in the Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. Born Jan. 8,1906,in Vesta,Mr. Fowkes retired in 1969 from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. A Navy verteran of World War II, he was a member of the United Methodist Church,and the Rod and Gun Club of Allenport and the Fayette City VFW. Surviving are his widow, Mae Hyatt Fowkes; a son, Park Sheldon Bloyer of Youngstown,Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. James (Marilyn) Hannen of Struthers, Ohio and Mrs. Glenn (Shirley) Chew of Belle Vernon; a sister, Mrs. Clifford Wolfe of Roscoe; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon, where services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Lloyd Tennies, pastor of New Hope Methodist Parish,officiating. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
