A former Monessen man, Eric Forsberg,69,of 113 Water St.,Belle Vernon,died Monday, Sept. 31,1968, at 6:45 p.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Born in Rankin on Dec. 14,1898,he had lived in Belle Vernon 13 years, moving to Belle Vernon from Monessen. A retired employee of the Monessen Page plant of American Chain and Cable Co.,where he worked as a wire drawer,he was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Monessen,was an ex-chief and life member of Monessen Volunteer Fire Dept.,and belonged to Western Pennsylvania Fire Dept. Association. Surviving are his widow, Bertha May Forsberg; a son, Donald E.,a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Ruth) Hughes,and a brother, William, all of Monessen;one sister, Mrs. Jennie Allen of Belle Vernon R.D.2 and four grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon, after 7 p.m. Oct.1. Service there Thursday,Oct. 3,at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. John Bowers,pastor of Belle Vernon's First Christian Church,officiating. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D. Ferguson is funeral director.
