Obituary

George E.Fee,73,of 405 Fayette St.,Belle Vernon,retired supervising principal of the Bellmarette Joint School District,died in the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital on Saturday June 2,1962 at 12:30 p.m. He had been ailing for several months but his death was unexpected. Mr.Fee,a native of Kansas,has been associated with the schools in Belle Vernon since 1922. He first served on the faculty and athletic staff of the Belle Vernon Borough Schools and later in the Belle Vernon Schools. In 1947,when the Belle Vernon and North Belle Vernon Schools formed a jointure,he assumed the post of the assistant to the supervising principal and a year later he became supervising principal. When the 1951-52 school term opened,the Bellmarette jointure had been formed between the Belle Vernon,North Belle Vernon,Washington Twp.and Fayette City Schools,and Mr.Fee was named supervising principal. He held that post until his retirement in 1956. He was also active in the Belle Vernon Public Library organizations. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon,where he served as an elder. He was a veteran of World War I,serving as a lieutenant. Survivors are his widow,Mrs.Ann Graham Fee,three sons,James of Salt Lake City,Utah,Thomas of Belle Vernon and Samuel of Maple View,two brothers,Walter and Joseph Fee,two sisters,Mary and Hazel Fee,all of Stafford,Kansas. Friends will be received at the Toner Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,during hours of 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Services will be held there Monday evening at 7:30 o'clock,in charge of Dr.S.Arthur Talman,pastor of the Belle Vernon Presbyterian Church. Friends will be privilefed to call following services. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery Tuesday at 10 a.m. Harold R.Toner,Belle Vernon,is the funeral director.
