Richard V.Fields;43;burgess of Belle Vernon;died suddenly Thursday;April 23;1953;at 11:45 a.m. He was a fireman on the Monessen-Southwestern Railroad and was returning from work when his death occurred. He was a member of the Vernon Rod and Gun Club;Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Company;No.2;East Belle Vernon Athletic Association;Italian Beneficial Society;Grand Lodge of pennsylvania;Order Sons of Italy and Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association. He was serving his second term as burgess when stricken. Surviving are his wife;Alverta;one son;Richard V.;one daughter;Lois Ann;one brother;Kenneth;of Charleroi and three sisters;Mrs.Leona Yates;Fayette City;R.D.;Mrs.Irene McDonald;Ellsworth and Mrs.George Stanko of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received at the Toner Funeral home. Services will be held there Saturday;April 25 at 2:30 p.m. in charge of Rev.J.Francis Bellville;pastor of the First Christian Church in Charleroi. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold R.Toner is the funeral director.
