William L. Davies of 212 Scott St.,Speers,died Sunday, Nov. 21,1976 at 6:07 p.m. in Waddington Convalescent Home,Fayette City. Mr. Davies was born in Handsworth, England on Dec. 16,1884, a son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Hunt Davies. He was a retired machinist from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Charleroi,Royal Arcanum and the Eighth St. Belgium Club, Charleroi. His wife,Lucy,preceded him in death on July 12,1966,as did a son,Frank, in 1969.Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. James (Marguerite) Stedman of Speers; a granddaughter,Mrs.Sandra North of Philadelphia,Pa., and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Francis C. Slezak Funeral Home,Third and Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Keith C. Ackerman officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Vigil services will be Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home. The Francis C. Slezak Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
