John Clarence Dowler;82;of 14531 Cindywood Drive;Houston;Tex.;died Wedesday;Dec.17;1975;at 4:30 p.m.in Memorial Southwest Hospital;Houston. Born Aug.28;1893;in Elco;he was a son of the late John and Louise Conaway Dowler. Mr.Dowler was a retired millwright at the East Monongahela plant of Liggett Spring & Axle Co. He was a veteran of World War I. Mr.Dowler was preceded in death by his wife;Leah Castiaux Dowler;in 1953. Surviving are one son;Robert;with whom he made his home;two sisters;Mrs.John (Olive) Gazi and Mrs.John (Ruth) Stephenson;both of Roscoe;and four grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Harold L.Schrock Funeral Home;Charleroi;on Saturday;Dec.20;from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday Dec.21;from noon to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Monday;Dec.22;at 11 a.m.in the funeral home;with the Rev.Francis M.Blair;pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Charleroi;officiating.
