William Dawson;73;of 511 Henry St.;Belle vernon;died at 9:40 a.m.Thursday;May 31;1973;in the Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. Born Dec.10;1899;in Bunola;he was the son of the late William and Nora Penn Dawson. He had resided in the Belle Vernon area for more than 60 years. Mr.Dawson was a retired general foreman of Rust Engineering Corp of Pittsburgh. Surviving are his widow;Jessie Sylvester Dawson;two sons;William A.of Belle Vernon and Jack of Fellsburg;a daughter;Mrs.Walter (Lois) Culbertson;also of Fellsburg;a brother;Edgar;of Merritt Island;Fla.;a sister;Mrs.Vera Yokel of Fort Lauderdale;Fla.;nine grandchildren. Friends are being received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 p.m.at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where services will be held at 1:30 p.m.Saturday;with the Rev.Kent A.Lighthall of Fells United Methodist Church in charge. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is the funeral director.
