Hobart Clegg Sr.;of 306 Main St.;Belle Vernon;died Friday;Jan.28;1977;at 6 a.m. in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon;he was born there on Oct.15;1896. Mr.Clegg retired from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp in 1968. He was preceded in death by his wife;Nina Cruthers Clegg in 1937;son;Malcolm Glegg in 1944 and a son;Buddy Clegg in 1970. Surviving are two sons;Hobart Clegg Jr.;of Chester;W.Va.;and Carl Clegg of Belle Vernon;with whom he resided;one daughter;Mrs.Robert (Mildred) Kostella of Perryopolis R.D.2;one sister;Mrs.Thelma Miller of Dearborn;Mich.;four grandchildren;and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;Belle Vernon from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev.Gerald Dye of the First Christian Church;Belle Vernon officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
