Obituary

Walter C.Culbertson,49,of Fellsburg,Rostraver Twp.,was pronounced dead on arrival at Mckeesport Hospital shortly after 2:25 a.m.Friday,June 29,1973,following as auto accident in Dravosburg. Mr.Culbertson,who was employment supervisor for General Motors Fisher Body Plant at West Mifflin,was a passenger in a car operated by William James Jones,18,of Homestead,that went out of control on Richland Ave.at 2:25 a.m. Born September 15,1923,in Charleroi,Culbertson lived in Fellsburg the past 10 years,formerly residing in Belle Vernon. He was a member of Fells United Methodist Church,Belle Vernon Lodge No.623,F&AM and was a veteran of World War II,having served as a sergeant in the 11th Airborne Division. Surviving are his widow,Lois J.Dawson Culbertson,one son,Kenneth and one daughter,Barbara,at home,his parents,Clarence and Mary Culbertson of Charleroi,one sister,Mrs.Albert (Helen) Ferrara of Charleroi. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,from 7 to 10 p.m.Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 p.m.Sunday. Funeral services will take place Monday afternoon at 1:30 with the Rev.Kent A.Lighthall of Fells United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
