David J. Cernicky, 53, died Tuesday, Aug. 11,1964 at 6:15 p.m. at his home, 386 Fell St., Belle Vernon. Mr. Cernicky was born in Dixonville,Pa.,Sept. 1,1910,and had been a resident of Belle Vernon almost his entire lifetime. He worked at the Monessn plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. until he became ill in 1960. Mr. Cernicky was a member of St. Sebstian R.C.Church, Belle Vernon. Surviving are his widow,Helen Cowan Cernicky; two sons, Dennis W.,of Belle Vernon and William J.,at home;a brother, Jaroslav Cernicky of St. Louis, Mo.;a sister, Mrs. Michael (Jarmilla) Chuhanic of Speers Hill,Charleroi and one grandchild,Dennis Cernicky. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,after 7 p.m.,Aug. 12. Brief Prayer services will be held at the funeral home on Friday,Aug. 14,at 9 a.m.,followed by services of Requiem High Mass at 9:30 a.m. from St. Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon.
