Obituary

James A.Bruce,78,of 513 Charles St.,Speers,Charleoi,died suddenly on Friday,Sept.23,1977 at 1:20 p.m.in his home. Mr.Bruce was born in Allenport on Aug.21,1899,a son of the late Henry and Emma Rutherford Bruce. In 1971,he retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad where he was employed as a signalman at the B.F.Tower in Brownsville. Mr.Bruce is survived by his wife,June Brady Bruce,one brother,William Henry Bruce of Lover,and two sisters,Mrs. Elizabeth Taylor of Charleroi R.D.2 and Mrs.Margaret Bragan of Pontiac,Mich. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon from 7 to 9 p.m.on Saturday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 1 p.m.,with the Rev.Dr.W.S.VanArsdale Jr.,pastor of the First Christian Church of Charleroi,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is funeral director in charge.
