James A.Bruce;78;of 513 Charles St.;Speers;Charleoi;died suddenly on Friday;Sept.23;1977 at 1:20 p.m.in his home. Mr.Bruce was born in Allenport on Aug.21;1899;a son of the late Henry and Emma Rutherford Bruce. In 1971;he retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad where he was employed as a signalman at the B.F.Tower in Brownsville. Mr.Bruce is survived by his wife;June Brady Bruce;one brother;William Henry Bruce of Lover;and two sisters;Mrs. Elizabeth Taylor of Charleroi R.D.2 and Mrs.Margaret Bragan of Pontiac;Mich. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon from 7 to 9 p.m.on Saturday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 1 p.m.;with the Rev.Dr.W.S.VanArsdale Jr.;pastor of the First Christian Church of Charleroi;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemtery. Shelby D.Ferguson is funeral director in charge.
