Obituary

Paul J. Baran Jr. of Gillespie, Fayette City R.D.1,died Tuesday,March 22,1977 at 6:55 p.m. in Westmoreland Hospital,Greensburg. He was born Sept. 26,1913 in Brownfield,Pa.,a son of the late Paul A. and Bertha Zimmerman Baran Sr. Mr. Baran was an Army veteran and a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church of Fayette City, Brightwell-Daugherty American Legion Post 484 of Fayette City and Slovak Citizens Club of Gillespie. He was employed at Corning Glass Works in Charleroi. Surviving are his widow, Margaret Krivda Baran; one son Paul Edward Baran at home; four daughters, Mrs. George (Dolores) Blatnik of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Stephen (Rigina) Angelo of Belle Vernon R.D.,Mrs. Glenn (Diane) Porter of Charleroi and Mrs. Bruce (Kathleen) Solomon of Belle Vernon, one brother,George Barnes of Rochester,N.Y.,two sisters, Miss Margaret Baran of Charleroi and Mrs. Joseph (Anna) Conko of Cleveland and seven grandchildren.He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Sophia Politsky and Mrs. Mary Hoffmister. Friends will be received at the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Main St.,Fayette City,after 7 p.m.Wednesday. Prayer services will be held Friday March 25,1977 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home,followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fayette City with Fr. Thomas Rinn as celebrant.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  A vigil service will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
