Joseph Basile;87;of 9 Grand St.;Belle Vernon;died Saturday;Jan.27;1962;at 11:55 p.m.in the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital;following an illness of six weeks. He was born Jan.29;1976;in San Giovanni;Italy. He came to Belle Vernon from his birthplace;and retired from the employ of the American Window Glass co.;Belle Vernon in 1944. He was a member of the St.Sebastian R.C.Church;Belle Vernon;and held membership in the Garibaldi Lodge of Dunlevy. He was preceded in death by his wife;Sarah Basile. Surviving are five sons;Samuel and James of Belle Vernon;Roland of Fairhope;Ross;with whom he made his home;and Anthony of Carlisle;Pa.;four daughters;Mrs.Ross (Carrie) Flora;Mrs.Rose Greco of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Nick (Mary) Mate of Pittsburgh;and Mrs.Jack (Margaret) Harrison of Belle Vernon;sixteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Ferguson Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;during hours of 1 to 3 and 7 to 10 p.m. Requiem High Mass will be sung in the St.Sebastian R.C.Church;Belle Vernon;Wednesday;Jan.31;1962;at 10 a.m.by the Rev.Andrew King.
