Joseph Bartus;77;of 1006 Brown street;Belle Vernon;died at his home;Thursday;October 2;1958;at 9:30 a.m. He was born in Hungary;May 27;1881;and had been a resident of Belle Vernon for forty years. He was a member of St.Sebastian Church;and was a retired coal miner;having been last employed at the Victoria mine in Pricedale. On October 9 of this year;he and his wife would have celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary. He is survived by his wife;Mary Bartus;three sons;Albert at home;Steve of Donora;and John of Belle Vernon;one daughter;Mrs.James (Mary) Nagy;Belle Vernon;three brothers;Louis in Europe;William of Beaver Falls;Andrew of Egg Harbor;New Jersey;one sister;Mrs.Julia Stefan;three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be recieved at the Ferguson Funeral Home. Brief prayer there on Monday;October 6;1958;will be followed by Requiem High Mass at 10:30 a.m.in St.Sebastian Church;with Rev.Henry Hanse in charge. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
