James A. Byron,Sr.,an elderly Monessen man injured in a fall on Donner avenue Saturday night,died in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital at 5 p.m. Tuesday,Dec. 7,1954. Causes of death were listed as a fractured skull and shock. Mr. Byron,who resided at 117 Schoonmaker avenue,fell in the 800 block of Donner about 9:30 p.m. Saturday. He was discovered lying on the sidewalk by a passerby,who summoned aid. The deceased was past master of Monessen Lodge 638,Free and Accepted Masons,and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. William Bell and Mrs. Albert Davis,both of Pittsburgh;four brothers,John and Edward Byron,both of Monessen,Robert Byron of Blairsville,and Harry Byron,of Lynnwood;two sisters,Mrs. William Jodon,of Monessen,and Mrs. Glenn Mills,of the State of California;and three grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. at the Edwin F. Melenyzer Funeral Home,Monessen,where services will be held at 9:30 a.m.Thursday. Rev. Arthur J. Morley,Trinity Church, priest in charge, will officiate. Burial will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Friends have been asked to omit flowers.
