Carmine (Charlie) Alessio of 15 Broad St.,Belle Vernon,died at 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23,1977 in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. He was born in Italy and had lived in Belle Vernon the past 64 years. Mr. Alessio was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,and the Giuseppi Garibaldi Lodge of Dunlevy. He retired 19 years ago from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. His wife,Santa Maria Altimare Alessio,preceded him in death in 1945. Surviving are two sons,Domenick Alessio and Mario ALessio,both of Belle Vernon;three daughters, Mrs. Domenick (Mary) Amoroso of Belle Vernon,Mrs. Ernest (Nora) Atello of Philadelphia and Mrs. Joseph (Dena) Kulsic of Belle Vernon,with whom he resided,11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.,followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D. Ferguson is funeral director in charge.
