Obituary
Agnes Byers Avery, age 74,a resident of Main St.,Fayette City,died in the Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital,Inc.,after a lengthy illness on Monday,September 30,1974 at 2:15 p.m. She was born in Fayette County on May 11,1900, a daughter of the late Milo and Mary Jordan Byers. Preceding her in death were her husband, Elroy R. Avery,in 1951,and one son,Raymond in 1972. Surviving are two sons, James Avery of Fayette City and Miol J. Byers of Monongahela;one daugher, Mrs. John (Geraldine) Bussler of Palo Alto,California;one brother, Shell Byers of Youngstown, Ohio; one sister,Isabel Edmonds of Redwood,California;twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City after 7 p.m. on Tuesday,where services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m.,with Rev. G. Gnatuk,pastor of the United Presbyterian Church, Fayette City,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
