Gerald Roy Ackard;82;of 520 Washington Ave.;Charleroi;died Friday Aug.19;1966;at 11:30 a.m.in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Mr.Ackard retired from the Monessen Plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co.in 1952. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America Lodge;Charleroi and a member of the Spiritualist Church;Charleroi. Surviving are his widow;Sara Hager Ackard;a daughter;Mrs.Lee (Dorothy) Davis of Newport Richey;Fla.;a son;David C.Ackard;Monessen. Friends are being received at the Harold R.Toner Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday;Aug.22;at 2:30 p.m.from the funeral home;with the Rev.W.S.VanArsdale;pastor of First Christian Church;Charleroi;officiating.
