Obituary

Tony Altier,73,of Belle Vernon R.D.2,died at his late home Friday,May 29,1964,at 6:45 a.m. He was a member of the Italian Society of Mutual Aid,American Legion Post 28 and veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1190,all of Monessen. Mr.Altier lived in Monessen until 1942 when he moved to his present address. He was a World War I veteran and a retired welder of the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co.,retiring July 8,1958. He was born in Italy April 7,1891. Surviving are his widow,Eva Rapp Alter,one son,Norman of Belle Vernon,two daughters,Mrs.William (Florence) Callaway of Belle Vernon R.D.2,and Mrs.Perry (Dorothy) Cloherty of Charleroi,ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Edwin Melenyzer Funeral Home,Monessen,during hours of 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.beginning May 30. Service there Monday,June 1,at 2 p.m.in charge of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church,Belle Vernon R.D. Interment Belle Vernon Cemetery,with military graveside service. Edwin Melenyzer,funeral director.
