Walter Atkinson,aged 67,of 413 Donner avenue, Monessen,died Monday,March 25,1956,at 11:25 p.m. in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Mr. Atkinson had made his home with his sister, Mrs. Flora Kyle for the past 28 years. He was a member of the Turners Club of Monessen, and had been employed in the construction department of the local Pittsburgh Steel Co. plant until his retirement in January of 1955. Surviving along with Mrs. Kyle are three other sisters, Mrs. Margaret Nolan,Mrs. Clara Barnhart and Mrs. Ella Wyant, all of Johnstown and a brother, Arthur of Johnstown. Friends are being received at the Edwin F. Melenyzer Funeral Home,262 Donner avenue, Monessen,between the hours of 1 and 5 and 7 and 10 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday,March 29,at 2 p.m. from the funeral home,with Rev. Lester Crum,pastor of the United Brethren Church officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Edwin F. Melenyzer,funeral director.
