Irene P. Zuro,77,formerly of Center St.,Belle Vernon,died Thursday,Dec. 14,2000 in Carlisle. A daughter of the late John and Julia Captain Dakas,she was born May 28,1923 in Gillispie. Protestant by faith,she had lived in Dillsburg for the past 14 years. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Janice Zuro of Etters, Pa.;two daughters and one son-in-law, Michelle Carson of Dillsburg and Marsha and Dusty Lewis of Belle Vernon; a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Elaine dakas of belle Vernon; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,Mike Zuro in 1984 and a sister, Eleanor Titler. Friends will be received in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,a Golden Rule Member Firm, 700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Monday at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. William E. Lawson, pastor of the Marion Presbyterian Church,officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. If friends wish, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
