Obituary

Carl Zazac,77,of Monessen,died Tuesday,Dec.13,1994,in Mon Valley Hospital following a lengthy illness.  He was born Oct.12,1917,in Monessen,a son of the late Andrew and Fannie Wojonoska Zazac.  He was a veteran of World War II,having served in the U.S.Army Air Corps in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters.  He was retired from Page Steel and Wire Division April 30,1972,and from Corning Glass Works in Charleroi on Aug.1,1984.  He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1190.  He was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Church,Monessen.  Survivors include his wife of 48 years,Mary Hakulin Zazac,one daughter and son-in-law,Karlyn and Jack Bell of Belle Vernon,one son and daughter-in-law,David and Dianne Zazac of Pittsburgh,one granddaughter,Anna Zazac,one sister,Mary Balant of Monessen,and one brother,Robert Zazac of New Stanton.  In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by two brothers.  Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Stephen D.Yoney Jr.Funeral Home,First Street and Schoonmaker Avenue,Monessen.  A Blessing service will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m.,followed by a Funeral Mass in the Epiphany of our Lord Church,Monessen,at 10 a.m.with the Rev.Dennis Sheehy,pastor,as celebrant.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Stephen D.Yoney Jr.Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
