Obituary

Anna Zuro of Belle Vernon died Monday,June 29,1987,at 11:34 a.m.in Mon Valley hospital. She was 96. Mrs.Zuro was born March 20,1891,in Austria-Hungary,a daughter of the late Anthony and Theodora Gurnick Mitus. She had been a resident of Belle Vernon for more than 50 years,and was a member of Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church,Charleroi. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband,Nicholas Zuro,in 1941,and by six sons,Steve,William,John,Mike,Walter and Samuel. Survivors include two sons,Peter of Monessen and Paul of Elizabeth Township,six daughters,Olga Zuro at home,Mrs.John (Eve) Stiranka of Houston,Texas,Mrs.Woodrow (Jean) Astle,Mrs.James (Mary) Jones and Mrs.Dalvert (Doris) Booth,all of Belle Vernon,and Mrs.William (Ann Lea) Mezoff of Bel Air,Md.,18 grandchildren,eight great-grandchildren and six nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where a Blessing service will be held Thursday,July 2,1987,at 9:30 a.m.,followed by funeral services at 10:15 a.m.in Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church,Charleroi,with Father John Rachsko,pastor,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Parastas service will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m.in the funeral home. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
