Walter Yowonske;72;of 165 Lutz Run Road;Belle Vernon;died Sunday;April 6;1997;at 2:45 p.m.in his home. Born April 14;1924;in Donora;he was the son of the late Samuel and Mary Yowonske. Mr.Yowanske lived most of his life on his farm and was formerly of Fairhope. He had been employed at Page American Chain and Cable in Monessen and retired from Corning Glass in Charleroi in 1978. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by a sister;Anna and four brothers;John;Frank;Samuel and Alex Yowonske. Surviving are his wife;Dorothy Matty Yowonske;one son and daughter-in-law;James and Diane Yowonske of Belle Vernon;two daughters and sons-n-law;Shirley and Dr.Charles Govette of Greentree and Sallie and Ronald Cox of McMurray;two brothers;Joseph and Steve Yowonske;both of Belle Vernon;one sister;Victoria Moran of Belle Vernon;and seven grandchildren. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m.in the funeral home with the Rev.Wayne Boring;pastor of First Christian Church;Fayette City;officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements ae being handled by the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.
