Obituary

John Yetsconish,67,of Connellsville Road, Fayette City,died at 6:19 p.m. Thursday, June 18,1992,in Mon Valley Hosptial,Carroll Township. Mr. Yetsconish was a former school board director in the Belle Vernon Area School District.  He was born July 21,1924,in Fayette City,a son of the late Charles and Mary Maria Savko Yetsconish. Mr. Yetsconish has owned and operated the Yetsconish Beer Distributorship in Fayette City for 40 years,prior to retiring in 1985. Since then,he has worked for the Jurik and Jurik Distributorship in Donora,retiring from there in 1991. He was a member of the Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church,Charleroi,the Fayette City American Legion;the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club and the Fayette City Slovak Club. Mr. Yetsconish was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater of Operations as a sergeant in the 312th Medical Battalion of the 87th Acorn Division. Surviving are his wife, Ann Faluski Yetsconish; a son, John Charles Yetsconish and daughter-in-law,Nancy Anne Yetsconish,of Belle Vernon R.D.3; two daughters, Linda Kay Yetsconish at home and Nancy Anne Fonner of Wheeling,W.Va.;three brothers, Michael Yetsconish of Fayette City,Paul Yetsconish of Fayetteville,N.C. and John Jay Yetsconish of Belle Vernon;four sisters, Ann Adametz of Sunnyvale, Calif.Sophie Seals in New Jersey,Helen Onufer of Belle Vernon and Olga Grazzini of Fayette City and seven grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home,Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. A Parastas service will be held Sunday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home. A Prayer service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home,followed by Divine Liturgy in Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church,Charleroi,with the Rev. John G. Petro,pastor,officiating.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Ferguson Funeral Home,Inc.,is handling the arrangements.
