Robert H. Watkins,87,of North Charleroi,died Thursday, March 16,2000,in Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Township. Born Nov.16,1912, in Twilight Borough,he was the son of the late Frank and Vera Hughes Watkins. A member of Speers United Methodist Church,he owned and operated Watkins Greenhouse in Twilight. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law,Gordon and Louise Watkins of Speers;grandchildren,Kim and Pat McGavitt,Frank and Paula Watkins,Gordon and Sherry Watkins II, Amy and Martin Matyas; great-grandchildren, Angela and Russell Crusan,Devon and Delaina Watkins,Gordon Watkins III,Ashley Watkins and Martin and Kaleigh Matyas and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his wife,Evelyn F. Watkins,on Dec. 15,1980;one brother,Frank R. Watkins;and one sister,Aline Mills. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home Inc.,226 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,where services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jeffrey St. Clair officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
