Carl E.Witmyer;86;of Charleroi;died Saturday;June 17;1995;in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township. Born May 27;1909;in Essen;Germany;he was a son of the late Joseph and Paula Ludwicka Witmyer. He was a member of St.Mary’s Episcopal Church;Charleroi. Mr.Witmyer was retired from Corning Glass Works;Charleroi plant;with 45 years of service. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law;Carl E. and Carol Witmyer of Mapleview and James S.Witmyer at home;three daughters and two sons-in-law;Elaine Witmyer at home;Evelyn and John Hosa of Attleboro;Mass.;and Debra and Dave Mascara of Belle Vernon;one brother;Ernest Witmyer of Belle Vernon;one sister;Evelyn Uhlman of Charleroi;eight grandchildren;John Hosa of State College;Brock Witmyer of Lakeland;Fla.;Daniele Witmyer at home;Chris Ann Hosa of Attleboro;Mass.;Kelly Reginelli of Washington;Pa.;Lesa Witmyer of Fallowfield Township;Megan and Joel Mascara;both of Belle Vernon;and three great-grandchildren;Ashley Hosa of Attleboro;Mass.;Johnny Hosa of State College and Cailyn Witmyer of Lakeland;Fla. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by his wife;Sophia Brilla Witmyer;who died Oct.1;1988. They had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversay on June 7;1988. He was also preceded in death by four brothers;William;Eric;Albert and Joseph Witmyer;and two sisters;Hilda Witmyer and Pauline Polacek. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home Inc.;228 Fallowfield Ave.;Charleroi;and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m.in St.Mary’s Episcopal Church;Sixth Street and Lookout Avenue;Charleroi. Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m.in St.Mary’s Episcopal Church with the Rev.Richard D.Visconti officiating. A prayer service will be held Monday at 8 p.m.in the funeral home. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
