James W.White;61;of 211 State St.;Belle Vernon;died Tuesday;April 13;1993;at 11:30 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township. He was born Sept.12;1931;in North Belle Vernon;a son of the late James M.and Alfaretta Soles White. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area;Mr.White was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the American Legion;both of Belle Vernon. He retired in 1988 from P&LE Railroad. Mr.White was a veteran of the Korean Conflict;having served from 1948 to 1952 with the U.S.Army’s 630th Engineer Light Equipment Company. Survivors include two brothers;Harold S.White of Castle Shannon and Edward White of Belle Vernon;five sisters;Mrs.Paul (LaVonne) Reed of Gibsonton;Patricia Parsons of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Louis (Audrey) Vertosnik of Cleveland;Mrs.Barry (Gwen) Vanaman of Cannon City;Colo.;and Sandy Revak of Youngstown;Ohio;a friend;Frances Evans of Belle Vernon;nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Friday at 1 p.m.with the Rev.James Burton of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 will hold services in the funeral home at 7 p.m. Thursday. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
