John J. Widmer; 80; of 16 Jean St.; Belle Vernon; died Monday;
Oct. 14;1991; at home.
He was born Aug.6; 1911; in
Charleroi; a son of the late
Rudolph and Mary Widmer.
He had been a Belle Vernon
resident for the past 18 years;
having previously resided in
Monongahela.
He retired in 1974 as a coal
miner at the Cokeburg Mine #60.
He was a U.S. Army veteran;
having served during World War II.
In addition to his parents; he
was preceded in death by three
brothers; George; Andrew and
Rudolph Widmer; and two
sisters; Margaret Rogers and
Antionette Mutich.
Survivors include his wife;
Eva J. Spencer Widmer; three
sons; Randy and Dennis; both of
Belle Vernon; and John of
McKeesport; two daughters;
Mrs. Sam (Lois) Henry and
Mrs. Eric (Valerie) Vance; both
of Monongahela; one adopted
daughter; Patricia Carlock of
Charleroi; four sisters; Martha
Smyers of Greenville; Agnes
Recaldini of Monongahela;
Cecillia Harvott of Deleware
and Anna Lawrence of
Bridgeville; 11 grandchildren;
five great-grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received
Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.; 700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where funeral services will be held Thursday at noon with the Rev.J.D.Flack of the Church of God of Prophecy;Normalville;officiating. Burial will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Feguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
