Obituary

Bernard J. Wasko,75,of 1365 Broad Ave. Ext.,Belle Vernon,Rostraver Township,died Tuesday, July 30,1991, at 545 p.m. at his home.  He was born Aug. 14,1915,in Rostraver Township,the son of the late John and Helen Bornik Wasko.  Mr. Wasko was a lifelong resident of Rostraver Township.  He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon.  He retired in July of 1991 from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel,Allenport Plant,with 54 years of service as a tinner. Mr. Wasko was a member of the Belle-Mon Sportsmen's Club and the Belle Vernon Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 209,where he was very active for many years and had achieved the rank of pilgrim.  He was a veteran of World War II,having served in the U.S.Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Wasko in 1964;two brothers, Charles and Frank Wasko and a sister, Helen Zekan. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Tallerico Wasko;a daughter,Mrs. Ed (Cindy) Rach of Perryopolis; a grandson, Elijah Rach of Peryopolis;and three sisters, Pauline Rusnak and Barbara Wasko,both of Belle Vernon and Mary Maksin of White Oak. Friends will be received at the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  A Prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 9:30 a.m.,followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
