Helen M. Walko,67,of 834 Hill St.,Belle Vernon,died Wednesday,April 4,1990,at 5:05 a.m. in the Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was born in Belle Vernon Dec. 21,1922, a daughter of the late Steve and Anna Luzanski Sarnosky. Mrs. Walko was a member of the St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon and the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph D. Walko on July 9,1986. She is survived by two sons, Joseph J. Walko and Donald (Bear) Walko, both of Belle Vernon; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Dorothy) Kirschner of Belle Vernon R.D.4 (Rostraver Township ); two brothers, Joseph Sarnowski and George Sarnowski,both of Valparaiso, Ind.; one sister, Mary Sivek of Belle Vernon;four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Prayer service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 10 a.m.,followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,is in charge of arrangements.
