Charles Edward Wells Sr.;69;of 1209 Summit Ave.;Monessen;died Monday;Aug.10;1987;in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born Sept.4;1917;in Monongahela;a son of the late Edward Stanley and Rebecca Wells. He was a retired warehouse worker of the Lee Norse Co.in Charleroi. He was a resident of Monessen for the past 25 years;having previously lived in Monongahela. Besides his parents;he was preceded in death by his wife;Mona J.Wells in 1974;and a son;Ronald in 1960. Survivors include three sons;Charles Wells Jr.;at home;Stephen B.Wells of Denver;Colo.;and Dale of England;three daughters;Diane Wells Frost of West Newton;Karen Olivia Wells and Carol Ann Wells;both of Pitttsburgh;two brothers;William H.Wells of New York;N.Y.;and Richard Wells of Monongahela;four sisters;Bessie Paxton and Edda Wells;both of Pittsburgh;Louise Laws and Naomi Warrick;both of Harrisburg;and six grandchildren. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.in the William R.Taylor Funeral Home;645 McMahon Ave.;Monessen;and Friday from 3 to 9 p.m.at the Mt.Zion Baptist Church;West Newton. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m.in the funeral home with the Rev.L.C.Woods;pastor of the First Baptist Church of Donora;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
