Virginia G.Wells of 715 Fayette Ave.;Belle Vernon died Saturday;Feb.21;1987;at 5:52 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. She was 82. Mrs.Wells was born Sept.27;1904;in Clairton;a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Smith Steinbarger. She was a member of First Baptist Church;Belle Vernon. A resident of the Belle Vernon area for over 75 years;she was a former school teacher;having taught for several years in the North Belle Vernon schools. Survivors include her husband;Joseph S.Wells;two sons;Dr.Samuel J.Wells and James A.Wells;both of Belle Vernon;seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where services will be held Tuesday;Feb.24;at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Jack Elder;pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Fayette City;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
