Obituary

Lawrence M.Weaver of 1349 Fayette Ave.,Belle Vernon,(Fairhope),died suddenly Friday,Nov.5,1982,at 11:08 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital,Inc. He was 71. Born in Banning,May 14,1911,he was the son of the late Jess Weaver and Margaret Brubaker Amalong of Belle Vernon,who survives. A retired police chief for Washington Twp.,Mr.Weaver had been serving as the Washington Twp.Juvenile Officer. He was a member of Mentor Road Baptist Church of Elizabeth,the Washington Twp.Lions Club. Mr.Weaver was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.,Monessen plant. Surviving are his wife,Edith Robbins Weaver,two daughters,Mrs.Clyde (Peggy) Holesapple and Mrs. Thomas (Patsy) Gilchrist,both of Belle Vernon,four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren,and one sister,Mrs.Bonetta Dorsey of Belle Vernon. Friends are being received at the Howard E.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,Saturday from 7-9 p.m.and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.and until the hour of service Monday. Funeral services Monday,Nov.8,will begin at 11 a.m.at the funeral home with the Rev.Bruce Gephart,pastor of the Mentor Road Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
