George V.Walker;of Charleroi R.D.2;died Thursday;Jan.8;1981 in the Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Twp. He was 57. Born June 30;1923 in Dunlevy;he was the son of the late George B.and Alice Campbell Walker. Mr. Walker retired in 1973 from the Tube Mill of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel;Allenport plant. He was a U.S.Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints;Monongahela Branch. Survivors include his widow;Evelyn Hatton Walker;six sons;George A.and Barton R.Walker;both of Monessen;David L.Walker of Monongahela;Vernon A.Walker of Roscoe;and Joseph O.and William R.Walker;both at home;two daughters;Mrs.Frank (Evelyn) Harris and Mrs.James (Paricia) Early;both of Donora;three sisters;Mrs.Anna Roth of Charleroi;Mrs.Raymond (Bertha) Shetterly of Newton Falls;Ohio;and Mrs.John (Elsie) Lindsey of Seattle;Wash.;and seven grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m.at the funeral home with George R.Scott;president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson;funeral director;is in charge of arrangements.
