Obituary

George V.Walker,of Charleroi R.D.2,died Thursday,Jan.8,1981 in the Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Twp. He was 57. Born June 30,1923 in Dunlevy,he was the son of the late George B.and Alice Campbell Walker. Mr. Walker retired in 1973 from the Tube Mill of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel,Allenport plant. He was a U.S.Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,Monongahela Branch. Survivors include his widow,Evelyn Hatton Walker,six sons,George A.and Barton R.Walker,both of Monessen,David L.Walker of Monongahela,Vernon A.Walker of Roscoe,and Joseph O.and William R.Walker,both at home,two daughters,Mrs.Frank (Evelyn) Harris and Mrs.James (Paricia) Early,both of Donora,three sisters,Mrs.Anna Roth of Charleroi,Mrs.Raymond (Bertha) Shetterly of Newton Falls,Ohio,and Mrs.John (Elsie) Lindsey of Seattle,Wash.,and seven grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m.at the funeral home with George R.Scott,president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
