Guy V.Winn;82;of 229 Charles St.;Fairhope;Belle Vernon;died at 8:30 a.m.Friday;March 14;1980;at Waddington Convalescent Home in Fayette CIty following a lengthy illness. A retired coal miner;Mr.Winn was also a former tax collector in Washington Township. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fayette City. Mr.Winn was also a member of United Mine Workers Local 2244;the Knights of Columbus in Belle Vernon;the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Charleroi and the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club. He was a charter member of Washington Twshp Fire Co.and Washington Township Lions Club. Born July 11;1897 in Pennsylvania;Mr.Winn was the son of Mr.and Mrs.John Winn. Surviving are his wife;Helene Hogan Winn;four sons;Vincent of Belle Vernon;John Jay of Perryopolis;Robert E.of Virginia Beach;Va.and Leonard of Monessen;a daughter;Mrs.Ronald (Patricia) Ledgerton of Belle Vernon;a sister;Mrs.Ellen Vance of Monessen;16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends may call after 2 p.m.Saturday at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home in Fayette City. A wake service will be held Sunday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.Prayer services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church;with Rev.Father Thomas G.Rinn officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
