Vernon W. Walters; of
Carson St.; Pricedale; died
Wednesday;August 16;1978; at 11:15 a.m. in
Allegheny General Hospital;
Pittsburgh. He was 65.
Born March 7; 1913 in
Charleston; West Va.; he was
the son of the late Marion E.
and Lula A. Williams Walters.
He has been a Pricedale
resident for the past 48 years.
Mr. Walters was a retired
conductor for the Monessen
Southwestern Railroad;
retiring in 1975. He was a
veteran of World War II;
having served in the U.S.
Army.
He was predeceased by his
wife; Susan Madeline Rabatin
Walters; on April 11;1976; and
two brothers; Earl and
Patrick Walters.
Mr. Walters is survived by
two sons; Vernon E. Walters of
West Newton and George A.
Walters of Belle Vernon; two
daughters; Mrs. Harry
(Loretta) Malone Jr.; of
Monessen; and Mrs. Charles
(Joan) Schaum of
Monongahela; three brothers;
Clarence and Albert Walters;
both of Brownsville; and Roy
Walters of Pricedale; one
sister; Mrs. Pearl Gilmore of
Belle Vernon; and nine
grandchildren. Visitations will be held in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home;with the pastor of the Mars Mill Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Leonard J.Parzynski;funeral director;is in charge of arrangements.
