Obituary

Vernon W. Walters, of Carson St., Pricedale, died Wednesday,August 16,1978, at 11:15 a.m. in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was 65. Born March 7, 1913 in Charleston, West Va., he was the son of the late Marion E. and Lula A. Williams Walters. He has been a Pricedale resident for the past 48 years. Mr. Walters was a retired conductor for the Monessen Southwestern Railroad, retiring in 1975. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was predeceased by his wife, Susan Madeline Rabatin Walters, on April 11,1976, and two brothers, Earl and Patrick Walters. Mr. Walters is survived by two sons, Vernon E. Walters of West Newton and George A. Walters of Belle Vernon, two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Loretta) Malone Jr., of Monessen, and Mrs. Charles (Joan) Schaum of Monongahela, three brothers, Clarence and Albert Walters, both of Brownsville, and Roy Walters of Pricedale, one sister, Mrs. Pearl Gilmore of Belle Vernon, and nine grandchildren. Visitations will be held in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home,with the pastor of the Mars Mill Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Leonard J.Parzynski,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
