Obituary

Thomas Weightman of 307 Johnson Ave.,Belle Vernon (Pricedale),died suddenly Friday,April 21,1978,at 4:38 p.m.in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. He was 82. Mr.Weightman was born Nov.14,1895 in Jefferson Twp.,a son of the late Thomas and Flora Lewis Weightman. He had been a resident of the Pricedale community for the past 50 years. A miner by trade,Mr.Weightman had been employed by the Sommers Mine in Pricedale and he retired from the Sager Mine in 1957 as a coal loader. Mr.Weightman was a veteran of World War I,having served in the U.S.Army Calvary and was a member of the Veterans of World War I of U.S.A.,Charleroi Barracks 350. Survivors include his widow,Clara Hildebrand Weightman,one daughter,Mrs.John (Florence) Shenos of Donora,three sons,Ralph T.(Bud) Weightman of Monessen,and William (Bill) Weightman and Dale (Babe) Weightman,both of Belle Vernon,two sisters,Mrs.Martha O'Toole and Mrs.Florence Tyrone,both of Pittsburgh,one brother,Andrew Weightman of Pittsburgh,13 grandchildren,four great-grandchildren,and one great-great-grandson. Friends will be received in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Saturday and Sunday. Services will be held in the funeral home Monday at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Kenneh E.Neiderhiser,pastor of the Belle Vernon Church of the Nazarene,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Leonard J.Parzynski,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
