Isidore E. Izzy the Scholar
Verkleeren; 87; of Charleroi;
died Monday; March 28;1994; in
the Washington County Health
Center;Washington;Pa.
Born Nov. 26; 1906; in North
Charleroi; he was the son of the
late Isidore E. and Eva
Manadise Verkleeren Sr.; who
came to Charleroi from
Charleroi; Belgium.
Mr. Verkleeren was a
member of First Christian
Church and F.&A.M. Lodge 615
both of Charleroi.
He was an avid deer hunter.
He was retired after 41 years
of service from Rieck’s Sealtest
Company of Charleroi and was
also formerly employed by
Allied Security Agency.
In addition to his parents; he
was preceded in death by a
daughter; Norma Jean Douro;
and one sister; Pauline
Buckholt.
Surviving are his wife;
Florence Luce Verkleeren; two
sons and daughters-in-law; Edward R. and Cecil Verkleeren of
Belle Vernon and Dr. John L.
and Barbara Verkleeren of
Carlsbad; Calif.; a son-in-law;
Don Douro of Fallowfield
Township; two sisters; Mrs.
Robert (Esther) Colvin of West
Alexander and Mrs. David
(Helen) Reconnu of Charleston;
S.C.; eight grandchildren; Dan
and John Douro; Ron; Gary and
Jeff Verkleeren and Patrick;
Christopher and Caitlin
Verkleeren; and one great-granddaughter; Rheanna Douro.
Friends will be received
Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home;226 Fallowfield Ave.;Charleroi;where services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Robert Colvin officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Masonic services will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m.in the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home Inc.
